If you’re looking for a Christmas treat, try Kasugai fruit gummy candy. If it doesn’t sound like apple, grape and peach squishy candies have anything to do with holiday treats, think again. These little gems make excellent ornaments for a faux tree. Celebrate the season with a snow-covered cupcake (it’s really coconut flakes) that you can add as many fruit gummies to as it will hold.

The gummy ornament Christmas tree cupcake is an imaginative addition to your holiday party, a cute kids’ project or just a fun way to celebrate with some creative cooking. The frosted gummy makes a wintery ornament to adorn your sweet treat tees.  You can decorate the cupcakes ahead of time or give your guests a bowl full of gummies to make their own Christmas candy concoctions.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Kasugai Fruits Gummy Candy
  • Cake mix—You can use your favorite recipe or (to simplify the process) use a boxed mix. You’ll also need eggs, oil and water to make the mix.
  • White frosting
  • Green food coloring
  • Shredded coconut flakes

Here’s What to Do:

  1. Mix the cake batter. You can choose whatever flavor suits your needs. You will cover the “tree” part with frosting, so it doesn’t matter what color the cake is underneath.
  2. Bake the cupcakes. Follow the directions on the box (or your favorite, homemade recipe) for baking times.
  3. Take the cupcakes out of the oven. Let them completely cool before icing them. While you’re waiting, move on to the next step and prep the frosting.
  4. Spoon the white frosting into a bowl. Add a few drops of green food coloring. Two to three drops will create a medium-light green shade. If you want a darker hue, add a few more drops.
  5. Stir the frosting and food color mixture thoroughly.
  6. Spread the frosting on to the cupcakes. Create a Christmas tree shaped peak, sculpting the green frosting into a cone on top of the cupcake base.
  7. Decorate the tree! It’s time to put the fruit gummies to use. There are three different flavors, each with a different color. You’ll have yellow apple purple grape and pink peach gummies to use. Press the gummies into the icing gently. They will stick with light pressure. Any more force and you risk pushing them all of the way through the “tree.”
  8. Coat the Christmas cupcake with faux snow. Sprinkle coconut flakes over the frosting and gummies.
