Bears in a Hot Tub

The koala cuties inside the box of Fun Fat’s Hello Bear strawberry flavored biscuits are adorably sweet. But, that’s not all! With their sassy smiles and animated poses, these teeny tiny little cookies are just asking to have some fun. Even though you can certainly eat them as-is, why not try turning the biscuits into a tasty dessert dish?
With a plain old sponge cake dessert shell, you can make a strawberry-filled Hello Bear cake. Add a few of the koalas on top, and it looks like they’re playfully wading in their very own hot tub! As a bonus, this recipe is so simple that you’ll have your bear biscuit cake ready in minutes. Your little bear cakes are perfect for an afternoon tea party, holiday get-together or a child’s birthday.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1 package of Hello Bear strawberry flavor biscuits (Hello Panda or Koala’s March will work just fine also)
  • 1 sponge cake (or angel food cake) dessert shell – If you’re making this treat for a party or for several guests, you’ll need one shell per person.
  • Vanilla yogurt
  • Optional: Strawberries

Here’s What to Do:

  1. Place a handful of bear crackers into a bowl. The more that you add, the more strawberry-flavored (and crunchy) the cake will be.
  2. Crush the bears. Use the palm of your hand, the back of a spoon or a potato masher to create a sand-like consistency. The strawberry filling will squeeze out, creating a paste that runs through the crushed biscuits.
  3. Spoon the vanilla yogurt into the bowl, on top of the crushed bears. You will only need two to three tablespoons to fill one cake shell. If you are making more than one, add extra yogurt.
  4. Mix the crushed biscuits and yogurt thoroughly. The strawberry filling from the biscuits will flavor and slightly tint the yogurt a light pink color.
  5. Scoop two to three tablespoons of the mix out and put them into the sponge cake shell. Smooth the top of the yogurt mix flat with the back of the spoon.
  6. Plunk three or four Hello Bear biscuits into the yogurt – feet first. Prop them up so that they look like they are relaxing in their little strawberry flavored yogurt hot tub. You can add a few more bears to pack the hot tub if you want a more flavorful dessert.
  7. Optional: Add to the strawberry flavor with some real berries. Slice a strawberry into thin strips. Place them on top or push the under the surface of the yogurt mix.
