Happy February 2016 fellow MunchPak-ers! If you have a calendar (and we bet you do…somewhere), then you’ve probably noticed a few holidays coming up. In February there’s Groundhog Day on February 2nd, Valentine’s Day on February 14th and then President’s Day is held the 3rd Monday of the month each February to celebrate Lincoln and Washington’s birthdays. But we doubt your calendar has included some of the important snacking holidays we’ve found for you – such as World Nutella Day!
Here are a few ways you can celebrate these snacking holidays:
Get together with friends and family to share a snack. Why not have a snack themed party or soiree where everyone can try something special? Your menu does not have to be elaborate, focus on the holiday and serve the themed food plus beverages to compliment. Some of your friends may not have tried this snack before or in awhile. For others this may be a go-to snack they eat all the time. It easily lends to a topic of conversation. Take photos and share them so everyone can remember the fun times you’ve shared.
Challenge yourself to try new snacks. Take a look at National Date Week coming up later this month. For some this is a snack they enjoy regularly but many do not eat dates often. Go ahead and be snackventurous – snacking & adventurous! Give a new snack a chance as you may find a new-to-you favorite.
Pack a snack to celebrate on-the-go. So Popcorn Day is coming up and you don’t have time to get together with friends to share a snack and smile. Why not pack a special snack to enjoy before or after a meal at school, work or as you go about your day. Many people around the world will be taking part in these unique holidays, so you are doing something with lots of others. Don’t miss out on the fun!
