This New Cheese Restaurant in London is Unbrie-lievable

Cheese makes everything better.

There, I said it.

Whether sliced, melted, shredded or just consumed as a solid block (no judgments from me, my friend!), I think most can agree that cheese has a pretty special way of healing wounds, enhancing meals (and I suppose in the process, expanding waistlines).

And just when you thought you had seen it all – cheese flavored snacks and cheese-covered sushi included, the Gouda Gods have unleashed a new surprise upon the world: a restaurant purely dedicated to cheese.

As you wallow in feelings of “why didn’t I think of that”, yes – it’s true. Since late March, lucky Londoners have gotten a legen-dairy new way to satisfy their queso cravings. The Cheese Bar in Camden is the gooey new addition to London’s buzzing food scene and offers up THE most tantalizing menu of cheese creations capable of melting any foodie heart. This new venture comes from the same mastermind as the Cheese Truck, a popular London food truck famous for flavourful twists on classic grilled cheese. Matthew Carver, or *cough* “the big cheese” of the project, created his bright yellow truck in 2013, and has since served up over 20 tonnes of cheese (that’s over 150k sandwiches) to hungry patrons. Soooo, you can say he knows a thing or two about his craft.

Now, his sights have turned to a more sophisticated cheese-filled repertoire. Menu items for the Cheese Bar include (and you might want to sit down for this) tempting classics like mozzarella sticks, baked camembert and fondue, alongside heartier dishes like melty rotelle pasta, breakfast poutine and gourmet toasties like “stilton, bacon and pear-chutney”. Are you drooling yet?

Naturally, you should also leave room for dessert. How about an ice cream sundae infused with blue cheese?

So cheese addicts, if you’re still with me, try to breathe. Until your next trip to London, perhaps a giant block of brie will do the trick just fine.
